Great Camp! Our children attended camp this summer and enjoyed every day. Each week had a specific theme and activities were planned accordingly. Activities were inside and outside (sports, baking, crafts) and on hot days the school has air conditioning to keep everyone cool. When my daughter had a little bump in the daytime, I was quickly called to let me know what happened and update how she was feeling. I then received an email in the evening to check in to make sure she was ok. Price was very reasonable especially with the early bird offer. Before and after care is available which we took advantage of. Highly recommend the camp. – Jayne McLean

Being a student of Star from grades 3 to 5 now in Newton’s Grove. I had an amazing experience there and everyone was nice and helpful. I remember the principal and vice principal Ms. Bernado and Ms. Rennie and Mr. Bernado as the gym teacher! They were all great, I miss them greatly along with the teachers there! Please tell them that they helped me accomplish a lot during my time there & that I’m doing much better in high school due to them. Today one of my friends that I met there is now in the same school as me as we both reunited after 4 years. 🙂 – Mahfuz Muhammad

I can’t say enough good things about Star Academy. My child’s time at the school was short, just Grade 7 and 8, but he would not be where he is today had not for Star Academy. Within four days of the attending the school, he was a different student. He was engaged, focused, eager to learn, and happy. His perspective was “they just keep explaining it and explaining in different ways until we get it”.

Star Academy introduced the Smart Board and laptops in the classroom at a time when public school board had not. In 2002, the school was far ahead of others.

The public school system failed my son – and likely many others with learning disabilities – during a time that a streaming system existed in Ontario public school system. The route suggested by my son’s elementary school would have lead to a vocational high school, where the Essential Stream was the only option.

Thanks to Star Academy, my son soared. He now has two undergraduate degrees, is a healthcare professional and will be pursing a Masters degree.

I attended this school for 4 years, and I graduated just before the ownership change and I will tell you that they were the best 4 years I’ve spent so far. The teachers were very helpful and friendly, as were the prinicipal and vice principal. I can’t speak for the school as of now because I don’t know how the new school administration is running it but if it is anything like it was while I was there then I would strongly recommend sending your kids here. – Isaiah Bryant

My sons confidence has grown by folds since he has joined here and he only surprises me each day with new things he learns at star !!

I use to go to that school from 2000 to 2002 up to I graduated before moving to BC. The teachers where very nice. Miss Bernardo,and Miss Rennie and the past staff where awesome teachers helped me in my school assignments. I miss talking to the old staff and friends I made there but that’s life we all move on in are lives. The last time I saw Miss Bernardo and Miss Rennie was back in January 2012. I flew in to visit them from BC because my grandmother passed away. They where very nice to send there condolences to me and my family when I came back for the last vist in June of 2012,and they where proud to hear how I am doing in life and working. I would recommend this school to any new student it helps you prepare for your life and responsibilities in life. Thanks for the good times,and memories Miss Bernardo,and Miss Rennie. – Gordon Kelly
